Storbritannien har lämnat den Europeiska unionen. På Swerigs höstmöte den 8 december 2020 sammanfattade Christopher Wingård, Brexit-samordnare på Kommerskollegium, vad som väntas:

Räkna med strul vid gränserna runt årsskiftet. Mycket tyder på att förberedelser släpar efter i Storbritannien, såsom en ökad belastning på små hamnar som inte är förberedda, att nya Customs Declaration Service (CDS) IT-system inte är testat ordentligt och att det saknas infrastruktur, t.ex. parkeringsplatser.

Brittiska handelsdepartementet

Margaret Whitby från UK Border and Protocol Delivery Group på Brittiska handelsdepartementet underströk den 9 december på ”Industry Day Readiness Webinar” för de nordiska och baltiska länderna:
